Information and upcoming events

Monday will be an asynchronous eLearning Day. Do not come to school! Instead, you will have assignments to complete at home. Students in grades 6-12 should check your Google Classroom. Lower school students will have assignments given to you by your teachers and/or posted on SeeSaw.

The PTO is providing meals for teaches during parent-teacher conferences next Monday and Tuesday and needs your help. Please sign up to bring something.

Best wishes to the high school debate team performing at LaPorte tomorrow. Debate team members: the bus departs at 7:45 a.m. Be on time!

Best wishes to Bethany students (Zeph, Phoebe, Martha, Ryne, Avery, Rylan) performing in Phoenix Performing Arts production of The Jungle Book at the Goshen Theater this morning, with public performances Saturday and Sunday.

Bethany Chess Invitational
The Bethany Chess Invitational is November 1. This is a beginner friendly tournament to help students know if they want to participate in tournament chess club and team chess at Bethany. Register using this link by Friday, October 31. Contact Mr. Leaman with questions. Tournament Chess Club will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for those students committed to competing in individual and team tournaments.

Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming November 10-14! Each student in grades K-8 will get an opportunity to create a book wishlist and shop throughout the week. Start exploring our school's Book Fair homepage and set up an e-wallet (if you'd like) for your child to use. Cash and e-wallet are both accepted forms of payment. Also, mark your calendars for Book Fair Family Night on Thursday, November 13 from 3:30-6pm. Come to the library with your students to peruse and purchase from the fair!

Middle School

Speech and Debate
The middle school speech team had two successful tournaments over fall break. Congratulations to Lena, Josiah, Clara, Martha, Ryne, and Poppy Dee for their excellent performances. At Stanley Clark: Lena Osborne 3rd in Poetry; Josiah Shue 6th in Impromptu; Clara Hanby 7th in Prose; Poppy Dee Kendall 8th in Drama. At Bishop Dwenger: Poppy Dee 2nd in Drama, Clara 4th in Prose, Martha Hanby 4th in Humorous Interpretation, Ryne Leaman 6th in Humorous Interpretation. 

Upper School

Speech and Debate
Bethany speech and debate hosted a very competitive 12-team tournament before fall break with the Bruins placing fifth. Eviella Sefu and Margo Finnigan finished third and fourth, respectively, in their varsity Congress chambers; Elena Unzicker fifth in varsity Lincoln Douglas debate; Thomas Schlabach fifth and Eli Schloneger sixth in novice Lincoln-Douglas. Kip Skiles and Thomas Schlabach each earned their first National Forensic League degrees, Merit, for their work on the day.

Middle School Boys Basketball shirts, open until midnight on Friday, October 31st.
