Snow Club

Snow Club is a co-curricular activity sponsored by Bethany Christian School and Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard Area. Snow Club provides a chance to learn or improve on a lifetime skill (skiing or snowboarding).

Snow Club usually meets Tuesday nights in January / February (weather permitting). The bus/van will leave from Bethany at 3:45 p.m. and return to school about 9:30. All members of Snow Club are expected to ride with the group on the bus/van. We will ski / snowboard at Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard Area in Jones, Michigan.

Who can join?

The co-curricular activity is intended for any student in grades six through twelve not involved in basketball.

What does the price include?

  • Two group lessons in January.
  • Skiing / boarding once a week (five trips total).
  • Bethany Christian School transportation to and from the resort.
  • Lift tickets and rental (if you don't own your own stuff).

Note: Swiss Valley does not give refunds in this discounted program.

Forms and payment are due in the office December 6.

Please read the enclosed information carefully.

  • Please check with your child about conflicts that might arise (music lessons, indoor soccer...). There are no refunds in this program.
  • Please be aware that all school policies apply while your child is participating in Snow Club. Breaking school rules or those of Swiss Valley may result in loss of Snow Club privileges without a refund.
  • If school is canceled, not in session or if Swiss Valley is closed, I will use Bethany‛s email / alert system to announce whether we will go or not.

Additional Information

  • Club Cards are transferable and may be used individually or shared with family and friends.
  • The card is NOT REFUNDABLE and REPLACEABLE only for a $50 fee. This includes lost or stolen cards.
  • If you do not have your card when you arrive at Swiss Valley, you must borrow a punch or must pay for your lift ticket / rental.
  • We collect the Club Cards at the end of each session so they are available for the next week. If you want to use the Club Card during a weekend, please inform me. The student is then responsible for safe guarding the Club Card. One (colored) punch may be used any day of the week including weekends.
  • Theft does happen. Please lock your gear. Lockers are provided for personal items at a cost of 50 cents each time you enter your locker. It is best not to bring valuables to Swiss Valley.
  • Starting February 18, you can use your fully used punch card for a half price lift ticket (and rental if included). This special is available once per day any day of the week.
  • Helmets are available to rent for $15 per visit. They are not included in equipment rental.
  • Punch for your parent/guardian: A parent punch will allow a one-time visit for either Mom or Dad. The student must accompany his/her parent to the ticket window. The parent will register and receive a lift ticket (and rental if needed.) This punch must be used on a regular Snow Club night.

To enroll your student in Snow Club and register online

  1. Fill out the attached form and enclose payment (Checks should be made out to Bethany Christian Schools)
  2. Turn form and payment into the office by December 6.
  3. On the Swiss Valley website register your student and sign a one-time waiver (required by Michigan) to ride the lifts. This is a new requirement
    • Go to: https://shop.skiswissvalley.com/groups
    • Enter this group code: “bethany2425”
    • Click on “Continue to Register”
    • Enter required information (name, contact info...)
    • Choose item: ”Lift only punch card” or “Lift and rental punch card”
    • Click on “Continue”
    • Click on “Register another person” or “Continue to checkout”
    • Click on “Sign new form/waiver for Minor participant”
    • Check information and click “Continue to view/sign form/waiver”
    • Sign form/waiver. Click on “Complete form/waiver”
    • Complete checkout form (should be filled in)
    • Verify you are human and click on “Place order”
  4. Ignore the payment information and the processing fee. Payment (which includes a $30 transportaion charge) is only made to Bethany.

Snow Club Family Information

Parents with children younger than grade six may purchase lift/rental passes for themselves and their children through Bethany's Snow Club at Swiss Valley‛s discounted club rate.

Parents must provide transportation and supervision for their children.

Children in grades six to twelve are expected to join Snow Club and use school transportation. The lift/rental passes provide five punches for lift/rentals. Four of these punches must be

used when Bethany‛s Snow Club goes to Swiss Valley. One punch may be used anytime. Currently we are scheduled for the following evenings: Jan 7, 13, 21, 28, and Feb 4 from 3.45-9.30. These dates and times may change due to weather, road or slope conditions.
