Bethany Christian opened its debate season at the Northeast Indiana Fall Congress, and several debaters walked away with honors.
Juniors Margo Finnigan and Elena Unzicker took home third and fourth, respectively, in their novice chamber. They also each earned their first National Forensic League (NFL) degree, Merit, for their efforts on the day. Legislation that Unzicker authored was also chosen in committee to be debated at the national-qualifying District tournament in January.
Junior Eviella Sefu earned her fourth NFL degree, Distinction, for her work in the varsity chamber.
The team competes next at their home tournament on 19 October.
