A warm welcome to our Bethany family

Dear Bethany Families,

The lazy, long days of summer are giving way to the shorter, busier days of fall, signaling the start of a new school year. With the 2024-25 year starting tomorrow, we extend a warm welcome to our Bethany family! We are excited for the start of school when hallways are filled with smiling, energetic students and teachers, and staff members engage classes in the journey of learning and discovery.

As we start the year, we are recommitting to our mission to prepare our students to participate in God’s work in the world. Our tagline, “Known, Loved and Prepared” provides a blueprint for how we engage at Bethany.

  • Known — We see each child as an individual and view developing relationships with each child as an essential part of the learning process.
  • Loved — Equally important is that each student understands that they are loved by teachers and staff and learn that they are also known and loved by God.
  • Prepared — When students are assured of being known and loved both in the Bethany family and in the family of God, they have the confidence to learn and use their unique gifts to contribute to God’s work in the world.

We are committed to enriching the educational, relational, and spiritual lives of our students. In this, communication and partnership with parents is integral. Over the course of the year, you will receive frequent communication from teachers, staff members, and school leaders. In our Bethany family, as in all families, open communication helps us to grow closer and positively engage.

Some of the ways parents and families can stay informed and engaged are through daily announcements, classroom newsletters, the school website, social media, the Keeping in Touch (KiT) newsletter, and school events. Returning families will notice a few changes. New this year is the “Family Portal” on the school website, bethanycs.net/family, where you can find important information including resources, contact information, recent news, calendar events and more. The family portal is the new home for the Bruin Weekly.

By staying in close communication, we partner to create a positive and enriching experience which will enhance the growth and development of the children we serve.

Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions, concerns, or points of affirmation. We always welcome your thoughts and ideas and enjoy passing on stories of affirmation to teachers or staff members who have gone above and beyond in their work with students. In addition, if you have a desire to become further involved in Bethany activities, please do not hesitate to let one of our principals know.

As we begin the new year, we are honored and grateful for the trust you place in us as educators. Our prayer is that our entire Bethany family enjoys a successful and fulfilling school year! Thank you for your partnership and your prayers as we embark on this new journey.

Sincerely,
Tim Lehman, Ed.D.,
Head of School
