The 4th graders have been reading and analyzing poetry by Robert Frost, Walter Dean Myers, and Valerie Worth. All three of these poets were inspired by nature so they took a field trip to go canoeing at Fiddler Pond so they could be inspired by nature too. The students canoed out into the middle of the pond and were encouraged to use their senses to take in all the sights, sounds, and smells of nature.
