In the varsity chamber, senior Josiah Schlabach and sophomore Ian McHugh took third and fourth, respectively. Schlabach also served as presiding officer. Sophomore Nico Brenneman-Ochoa served as presiding officer in the novice chamber.
For his efforts on the day, Schlabach earned his fifth National Forensic League (NFL) degree, Special Distinction. The NFL is the oldest high school speech and debate honorary society in the United States.
