Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Bethany Christian High School has announced its 2011-12 theater schedule, which will include the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat February 23-26, 2012. The musical is based on, but does not completely follow, the biblical story of Joseph as found in Genesis, but still has a family-friendly storyline, universal themes, and catchy music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice.

Though a narrator guides the story throughout, there is very little spoken dialogue and is almost entirely sung using a variety of styles, including parodies of French ballads, Elvis-inspired rock and roll, western hoedown, 1920s Charleston, Reggae, and disco.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and will go on sale beginning Feb. 6. To ensure a seat, reserve tickets ahead of time in the school office or call 574 534-2567. There will be five performances: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 7:30 and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
