Myron Bontreger ('87) and Eric Risser ('88) are part of the 2007 Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame Inductees.
Myron Bontreger earned nine varsity letters, starting in soccer, basketball, and baseball all three years he attended Bethany. He still holds school soccer records with 66 career goals and 33 goals in a season. In basketball he ranks third in career assists with 242 and sixth in career scoring with 751 points. He was a member of the 1987 sectional champion baseball team and finished in the top ten in eight career categories including second in homeruns (7), fourth in wins (12), and fifth in RBIs (62) and runs scored (75). As the head coach of Bethany's soccer team from 1998-2004 his teams compiled a 71-62-10 record.
Eric Risser earned 7 varsity letters in two sports: basketball and baseball. In his senior year he led the basketball team to the school's best record of 19-3, scoring 404 points (fifth highest for a season) for an average of 19.2 points (third highest for a season). He was a member of the 1987 sectional champion baseball team and finished in the top 10 career in eight categories. As a pitcher he ranks first in wins with 14 (tied) and ERA (2.27). As a hitter he ranks first in triples (9), runs scored (100) and walks (79) and third in stolen bases (50).
