Tom Lantz (’84) and Lisa (Bergey ’99) Lehman were inducted into the Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame during its annual banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Tom Lantz was Elkhart County’s leading scorer in basketball in 1983-84 with 501 points, which is still a Bethany season record. A two-year letterwinner, he is fourth in Bethany career scoring with 923 points. Known for his long-range shooting, he would have easily eclipsed the coveted 1,000 point mark had the three-point line been in effect during his career. He was third in career field goals made (385) and tenth in free throws made (153).

Lisa (Bergey) Lehman helped lead Bethany to its first girls basketball sectional championship as a junior in 1997-98. A three-time varsity letterwinner, she was a stellar player on both ends of the court finishing second in career rebounds (555) and fifth in career scoring (748). She was an accurate shooter, hitting 60.4% and 56.2% from the field her junior and senior years—two of the top three season marks—and her 101 free throws is second best for one season. She also has two of the top three rebounding seasons with 248 and 245.
