Seth Kauffman reached the 1,000 point club on Tuesday night (Feb. 17), joining Eliot Friesen ('97) who has 1146 points, as the only other Bruin boys basketball player to reach the mark. Seth recently passed Jordi Buller ('02), who had 987 points, for second on Bethany' boys basketball career chart. Jill Troyer Miller (’89) with 1188 and Kari Heusinkveld (’08) with 1035 have reached the 1,000 point-mark on the girls side.
With Jimtown double- and tripleteaming Seth whenever he touched the ball, he was often passing the ball to open teammates and only managed 6 points himself in the team’s 30-28 win. Coach Buller notes that this is characteristic of Seth. “He is an unselfish, team-oriented player.”
Coach Buller further describes Seth as a “team leader who works hard in practice and plays intense on the court. He is as fine a person as he is a player and has been a real treat to coach.”
Seth will be honored before the Bethany home game vs. LaVille on Saturday, Feb. 20. Come out and show your support for Seth and the team as they try to extend their winning streak to 7.
